There's a wonderful article in the 08/14/17 New York Times about Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer.  These two remarkable artists (and siblings) are releasing their first album made together, "Not Dark Yet," later this week.  While the article doesn't discuss their plans to tour together, they'd be a fine, fine addition to TBF 2018.

Wish list updated

I would really love to see the Alabama Shakes live, what a talent she is

I may have mentioned Alison Kraus and Union Station

And for a party I think Jimmy Buffet is great, great fun. May not be Telluride style but I can really picture 5,000 people singing Brown Eyed Girl together in the park

Dreaming of sunshine and friends from across the oceans.....

Some smaller acts who'd be great are:
Truckstop Honeymoon
Jeffrey Lewis
Split Lip Rayfield
Grazzhopper
Arkansauce
A variety of side projects from Elephant Revival people, such as:
We Dream Dawn (Sage's new project)
My Tea Kind (Bonnie's old band with her sisters and James Townsend)
Cottonwood Snow (floating line-up of all women band usually led by Bonnie, Bridget, Bonnie's sisters and a variety of others have shared the stage.)
Bonnie and Dan have multiple projects together outside of revival.

They had John Fogerty, so is Jimmy Buffet really out of the question?
I think he'd be a great addition.

He only works Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays! So he could fit in on two days of the fest! Everybody could wear the outfits from Tropical Tuesday for the Buffett set! Pirate

Hoping that the "American Acoustic" adds a tour stop @ the APHC season opener at The Palace in St Paul 10/7/17.

If A TBF/APHC taping happens, they should certainly have GK as a guest?  Thumbs Up

We need to get the boys at Run-A-Muck to work on this. It would make a perfect Saturday midnight show!

I second Alabama Shakes for a main-stage closer.  In my humble opinion, things are gotten a little slow for those slots, which has made NightGrass decisions a lot easier.  I miss the funk and dance music of a Sharon Jones or David Byrne after hours of acoustic string music.  For that matter, the McCrary Sisters could fill a late night slot even more appropriately than the Sunday Morning Gospel Hour that they did a couple years ago.

In the same vein, I was really hoping for St. Paul  & the Broken Bones last year, but it didn't happen.  His calendar was open during Telluride for quite a while, and then that door sadly closed.  Another thought: The Mavericks put on one heck of a live show that crosses musical genres and tastes (how about a double of FirstGrass and a Thursday close for The Mavericks?).

Is the sun setting on Neil Young at TBF?  Every year, I've got my fingers crossed.

I have enjoyed the slight detours toward country music the last few years - like Margo Price last year.  Two young and up-and-comers that would fit Telluride nicely are Tyler Childers and Jeremy Pinnell, both of whom have just released wonderful albums in the last couple of weeks.

Oh ... and Billy Strings.  What's taken so long?

Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real but only if he brings along the Lucius women who sing on his new album. They were great with Roger Waters. Also the two main headliners from this weekends Jackpine Jamboree... Leftover Salmon and Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. My favorite Wisconsin festival.
